Description: A fine Koto Wakizashi inscribed and attributed to swordsmith Yasuhiro, ca.16th to early 17th century. The blade is shinogi-zukuri with a medium deep curve. The grain is tight itame-mokume. The temper line is gonome-midare with several boxlike areas and mino-style togari (pointed gonome). The boshi is komaru with long turnback and some "swept" (hakkake) effects. The hamon has much nioi and scattered konie. There is also scattered umegane (old patches). The habaki is a double, gilt (niju) style. The wakizashi is mounted in an old magnolia shirasaya.
