Description: Large Early Qing dynasty underglaze blue and white "dragon" vase, ca. 17th to early 18th c. Dimensions: 36cm (14.2") high and 17cm (6.7") diameter. This large porcelain vase is impressively painted in deep and vibrant under-glaze cobalt blue with a design of a flying 5-clawed dragon flying amid exploding clouds and above a roiling sea with mythical fish. The bottom of the vase is signed with a double-ring Kangxi (1662-1722) signature. The vase has a red wax seal from the Chinese Customs Antiquities Authority validating the age and authorizing the legal exportation of this piece.
