Description: Rare Pair! Tang Dynasty Sancai Bactriam Camel and Attendant, ca.AD618-906. Dimensions: (camel) 15.75" tall, (attendent) 13.5" tall. This pair is among our finest acquisitions. We are offering a Tang sancai bactrian camel and his attendent. The camel is modeled standing with his head back in resistance to the urges of the frustrated attendant. Both exhibit the classic runny sancai glaze color of beige, green and cream. The pair are in a high state of preservation. The sancai glaze is glossy (very difficult to acquire and high desireable) and is finely crackled with 'fish scaling' effect (please inquire for further explanation). The pair still have their original bases still intact (most funerary figures are missing or have damaged bases).Condition Consensus: Very Fine condition.
