Description: Rare Qijia Culture amphoric jar, ca. 2500BC-1500BC. Dimensions: 15.5cm tall, 20cm long, 10cm deep. This jar has a bulbous double bottom with a tall and long neck. It is high-fired and has a distinctive ring when taped. This shape I call amphoric. There is also an impressed design of band with a central row of dots. The jar was excavated from Gansu Province and exhibits rich qin metamorphosis. This is the the silver colored formation on the exterior of the jar. It is a diagnostic of eons being buried in a tomb adjacent to various tomb contents and moisture. It is not replicable by modern means. Condition consensus is Very Good condition. Amazingly for almost 2,000 years without any injury or repair.
