Description: Rare! Imperial Yellow, 9-Peach, Egg-shell, Wine Cup, Signed Xing YuTang Zhi, c.18th c. Dimensions: 3.25" wide, 1.75" tall. Weight: 29.9 grams. The ground color is a light "Imperial" yellow. Painted in powdery "fencai" enamel overglaze colors are a flowering peach branch with 9 luscious peaches. This cup is amazingly thin. With a wall thickness less than an American dime (see enlargements). It is practically bodiless. A process where the fine porcelain body has been thinned on a lathe to such a thinness that after applying glaze and firing, the body is practically all glaze. The design would then be painted in over-glaze enamels. It is amazingly thin and very transparent (see enlargements). A 4-character "Xing Yu Tang Zhi" signature. Translated means, made by Xing Tang and made for Imperial family use. There is a further inscription on the side of the cup describing a particular hall in the Imperial City. The rim of the cup has a lip that was originally gilded, but is now mostly worn off. Gilding remnants can still be seen in some areas (see enlargements).

Condition Consensus: Very Fine condition. No injuries.

Condition: Very Fine
