Description: A fine Blue overlay White Peking Glass Bowl, ca. 19th c. Dimensions: approx. 4-1/8" tall, by approx. 8-7/8" diameter. This elegant bowl has a thick, translucent white glass overlay with a thick and translucent turquoise blue glass. The blue overlay was finely ground down to expose the underlying white with a beautiful design of flowering plum, peony and earth. The body has a delicate form with broad flaring mouth with a narrow and short, rounded foot. There is a very lightly etched word CHINA on the bottom of the foot. This was mandatory on all goods imported from China after 1920.
