Description: A nice petite Ming dynasty blue and white vase.Dimensions: 10.5 cm (4.1") tall. This vase has a pear shaped form known as Yuhuchun. The decoration is of peony flowers,vines, pine leaves and scrolls along the shoulder and above the foot rim. It has a wide and flared mouth rim with square lip. There are squared ears on the shoulder. The shape tapers to a narrow neck and continues to an ample belly. The vase sits on top of a tall recessed foot rim which is unglazed. The unglazed porcelain exhibits an iron reddish orange that occurred during the original firing and is indicative of its age.
