Description: A fine Qing dynasty Fencai GuanYinPing, signed Be-Yu Tang. We attribute this vase to ca.1850. Dimensions: 15.5cm high and 7.5cm diameter. This vase was painted in fencai style and color. After the white ground was appllied to the hardened porcelain body, under-glaze cobalt blue decoration and detailing was applied and the vase high-fired around 1300 degrees celcius. After this first stage was completed, the over-glaze design done in 'powdery' enamel colors were applied and fire a second time at a lower temperature around 700 degrees celcius. This vase is signed in under-glaze cobalt blue: BI-YU TANG.
